FAQs for Unrd and I've Got A Text
  • Unrd (pronounced unread) is an award-winning storytelling app. It allows you to read gripping stories told through a fictional character’s mobile phone.

  • Unrd creates real-time storytelling apps. Each story gives you access to a fictional character’s phone. You can access their messages, calls, emails and photo gallery. Once you start each story, you’ll then receive messages in real-time over a number of episodes (story days). Players can use coins to unlock additional content, or to speed up the story.

  • Our storytelling apps are free to download. We offer in-app purchases which players can buy to advance their progress by unlocking additional content (such as episodes, messages, calls and emails) or to speed up the stories.

  • Coins are the main currency for unrd stories. Coins allow you to unlock messages, emails, calls and gallery images. You can also use coins to speed up the story, or unlock additional episodes within a story. Coins can be purchased as an in-app purchase or earned by watching ads and collecting daily rewards.

  • Keys are a currency in unrd and I’ve Got A Text which allow you to unlock locked content without having to use coins. You can purchase keys as an in-app purchase or by using coins you already own.

  • Hearts are a currency in I’ve Got A Text which allow you to unlock locked content without having to use coins. You can purchase keys as an in-app purchase or by using coins you already own.

  • We sometimes tackle important issues in unrd stories to raise awareness or for representation. We don’t offer support directly, but you can visit unrd.co/helplines for a list of select charities, organizations and helplines who will be able to offer you help, support and advise.

  • Unrd used to offer an all-you-can-eat subscription which promised new content every month. Due to Covid-19, we aren’t able to guarantee monthly story releases. Therefore, we currently don’t offer this. A new subscription offering may return later in 2021, however it won’t be in the same format as before.

Problems
  • If you’re not on the final day, please ensure you’ve allowed unrd to work in the background and set any battery power saving settings to manual for unrd. If you pause and resume the story and messages suddenly show, it means your phone settings are stopping unrd from working.

  • Don’t worry, this sometimes happens if your connection drops as the payment is going through. If this happens, please contact support below and forward your Google Play or AppStore receipt. We’ll also need to know your registered mobile number, or User ID.

  • If you’ve previously created an account using your mobile number, simply re-install the app, and follow the register flow again using the same number and it will sync your progress and purchases. If you didn’t create an account using your mobile number and were using a Guest account, it will be hard for us to recover it. However if you have previously shared a referral code, or you knew your guest ID, we can help sync your progress. Contact support with these details for help on this.

  • This is a bug we are aware of that affects some Android devices. We are trying to fix this however due to the large amount of Android devices on the market, we haven’t quite fixed them all. If this happens to you please let us know your device name and Android version and we’ll look for a fix.

  • 1) Please force quit the app and reopen, then try starting the story again. Please don’t skip through the intro video. 2) If this doesn’t work, please create an account (to save your progress) delete the app and reinstall. Then follow the ‘Register’ link to log back in and load your progress. It should now connect to the story.

  • As Apple/Google manage all payments on our behalf, you will need to contact them to apply for a refund. It is at their discretion if you qualify for a refund. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over this.
